Here is the Good news for ration card holders in Telangana. People can now be relieved as the Telangana Ration Card eKYC date has been extended again. Previously, the government had announced that January 31st, 2024, was the last date to complete your Ration card eKYC , but now the date has been extended to the end of February.
However, due to an increase in confusion and queries regarding the eKYC, the last date had to be postponed. A ration card is very important to avail benefits from the guaranteed schemes such as the Mahalakshmi scheme etc, launched by the government. Completing the ration card eKYC is mandatory.
As the government observed that ration card centers were overwhelmed with resolving significant issues and queries related to eKYC updates, and many people were anxious about their ration card eKYC as the last date approached, the government decided to extend this ration card eKYC last date until the end of February.

Step-by-step guide on how to complete the Telangana ration card eKYC:
- Visit your nearest ration card office or ration shop along with all your family members.
- Fingerprint verification using ‘E Pass’ will be done, which shows your ration number and Aadhar number linked to your ration card.
- The green light indicates approval that your eKYC is updated.
- If you fail to present any one of your family members, that particular family member will be considered as a distinct and different unit not included under your ration card.
Completing this process is compulsory if you want to apply for a new ration card. This is necessary to fully authorize your ration card and eliminate duplication.
If you are applying for a new ration card, this process is also compulsory. Once the eKYC for the old ration card is completed, you can apply for a new ration card if it’s required. As per the information, the government has already completed 75% of the ration card eKYC. Civil Supplies Commissioner DS Chauhan has informed the Hyderabad Rationing Officer and additional collectors of every district to complete all ration card eKYC updates by the end of February.
Further, no extension of the last date will be provided for any ration card eKYC update.
